I agree with Richard- this is a riot.
Ahem, before I forget, I should probably mention the fact I received two dog collars and a rav'n light from Catherine for Christmas. :-)

Take the What Should Your New Year's Resolution Be? Quiz

And for my first step toward meeting that resolution, I shall refrain from posting the lyrics to Staind's "Outside."
At the risk of saying "you don't know what it's like, being male, middle-class, and white,"

I'm sorry.
Why should I say I'm sorry?
If I hurt you,
You know you've hurt me too.

But you get lost inside your tears,
And there is nothing I can do,
'Cause I get lost inside my fear
That I am nothing without you.

You're angry.
Why shouldn't you be angry?
With what we've been through,
Well I get angry too.

Chorus

'Cause I am nothing without you.

Why should we have taken so long
To be looking inside of our mind?
Everything we tried went wrong.
Are we worried 'bout what we might find?

I'm sorry,
But can I say I'm sorry?
If I hurt you,
You know it hurts me too.

Chorus

And you get lost inside your tears,
And there is nothing we can do,
'Cause I get lost inside my fear
That I am nothing without you.

'Cause I am nothing without you.
And I am nothing without you.
'Cause I am nothing without you.
'Cause I am nothing without you.

-- Eric Clapton, I Get Lost

I guess I should appologize for the amount of lyrics/time spent on my blog regarding my relationship problems, and the lack of more light-hearted, random commentary. I'll call it a new year's resolution to change that.

My 11 month drought of studio work is over! Woohoo! The victim, ahem, I mean model's name has been withheld to protect the surprise soon to be bestowed upon her significant other. With any luck, this shoot will give Christy a run for her money. ;-)
It's been so long since I've gotten to shoot anyone. Kickass.
Note to self: RTFM. This may be especially important when one's boot sector is hosed. Oh well, problem fixed. :-P

BTW, I'm back in NoVA, sort of. I'm working at MITRE while I'm around, and I will be in Florida from Dec. 26 to Jan. 2. I'll probably be going back to Purdue on the 4th. Gimme a buzz if we haven't already chatted. So yeah, its pretty nice to be home.
Ooo oh oh
Ooo oh oh

Any time that you want
I'll be here in your arms
Slently holding on To the girl with he charms
But if there comes a day
You should turn your heart away
I'll be down on my knees
Beggin' for that girl to stay

Don't let go
Ooo oh oh
Don't let go
Ooo oh oh

Anything you desire
I will set at your feet
With a kiss in the air
For the gods to recieve
But if there comes a day
You should turn your heart away
I'll be down on my knees
Beggin' for that girl to stay

Confrontations in my mind
Got me running out of time

Don't let go
Ooo oh oh
Don't let go
Ooo oh oh

But if there comes a day You should turn your heart away
I'll be down on my knees eggin' for that girl to stay

Don't let go
Ooo oh oh
Don't let go
Ooo oh oh

When you're on a holiday
You can't find the words to say
All the things that come to you
And I wanna feel it too

On an island in the sun
We'll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can't control my brain

Hip hip
Hip hip

When you're on a golden sea
You don't need no memory
Just a place to call your own
As we drift into the zone

On an island in the sun
We'll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can't control my brain

We'll run away together
We'll spend some time forever
We'll never feel bad anymore

And it makes me feel so fine
I can't control my brain

The final presentation for my EPICS team, JDS was today. It went well. So well, in fact, I've been asked to lead a workshop on EPICS team best practices next semester. They day is mine.

I never thougth I'd be thankful for a C in anything, but hey I got a C in ee495r. Woohoo! I don't have to hear "sliding window protocol" spoken ever again with a thick french accent.

Upon more extensive review, I stand corrected.

If I were a work of art, I would be Vincent Van Gogh's The Starry Night.

I am a tiny village at peace while overhead rages the tumult of the heavens. Objects whirl and flash around me in a fevered haze only partially reflected in reality while I remain grounded and secure in my isolation.

Oh, btw, the dyke hampster that's running my brain? Yeah, actually, there's more than one- there's 5. One dominatrix dyke hampster sqwaking at the other four to hurry the fuck up. But the problem is that the dominatrix hampster doesn't do a very good job, and thus slacks off in telling the other hampsters to keep at it. Thus, the wheels stop spinning quite often. Thus my short term memory sucks a lot.
Oh, and btw, Penfold is in a love triangle between one of the four underling hampsters and the dominatrix. I guess they're bi, which explains things. Danger Mouse had nothing to do with that one, I promise. The dominatrix's name is Colonel K.

"Rob Head? No wonder Tom Pazcolt said he could live here as a grad student, he is the next Tom Pazcolt. Christ, he's already fat and has an attitude problem."

So after my ee495r exam I managed entry to the Vision 21 confrence room on the 7th floor of LAEB. Yes, the view is that great. No, I won't tell you how I got in.
Oh, and one other thing, GUA!
The icing on the cake.
[If I were an online test, I would be The James Bond Villain Personality Test]

I'm The James Bond Villain Personality Test!

I live in a fictional world of spies and blonde women with ridiculous names, and I like to give people plenty of options. Although whether they're villainous is not optional.

I give up.

I am a Fish with a Bicycle.

My poetry kills cows, but only with an acute sunset. Four score bald men take their coffee for a walk with my conveyer belt. Death pays those who interfere with my green amusement.

Are your giraffes on fire? The Utterly Surreal Test

GUA!
This is a little scary; here we go again...

If I were a work of art, I would be Edvard Munch's The Scream.

I express the subconscious troubles and anxieties of the world. I hold my head and let loose the primal terror of my innermost fears, surrounded by a lurid landscape which reflects my feeble grasp on reality.

BTW, have I mentioned that I'm the leader of a certain EPICS group, JDS? It's a lot of fun playing manager of a 13 (soon to be 20) member technical project team. Whee, we met our major semester goal to get a debugged database out to the Tippecanoe County Probation Department. This class is a lot of fun and by far my favorite class I've ever taken at Purdue.
If I was an Autobot, I'd be:

Hmm, I've been up for 36 hours. For good reason- JDS deployed today. Whee, let's hear it for writing data conversion Perl scripts at 4 in the morning.
Yeah, I'm done.

And for a dramatic change of pace: Ben Folds, Murat Theatre, Indy, tonight, 8pm; me, Kurt, Adam, Tom, and Dave. Yeah.
There's 104 keys on my floor and I can't help but cite the "D is for Diploma" clause. Please, make this semester go away...

Saturday, December 01, 2001

Woohoo, I'm going to my third rave in a little over a month tonight. :-) :-) :-)
